Friendship Club - News & Announcements
The Friendship Club of the Pine Brook Jewish Center (Senior Adults 55 and over) According to the calendar, spring has arrived. In a short time, we will be seeing leaves on the trees, admiring colorful flowers and enjoying warmer temperatures!
We had a lovely turnout at our annual mid-winter brunch on Sunday, February 17. In celebration of Presidents’ Day, Annette Winter of the Traveling Stage Company entertained us with her excellent portrayal of Martha Washington, the “first” first lady of the United States. It was a wonderful history lesson in which we learned about the culture and traditions of the Colonial period and the courage and wisdom of this remarkable woman. Also, now that the weather is milder, we are planning a day trip either in late April or May. Once arrangements are finalized, a flyer will be mailed to you with all the details.
SAVE THE DATE – Wednesday, July 10, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – The “AARP Driver Safety Program.” Marty Karasick, a certified AARP volunteer and a member of The Friendship Club, has offered once again to conduct this one-day course for all drivers age 50 and older. This class was well attended and well received last summer.
If any member of our congregation has reached the “fabulous age” of 55 and would like to be placed on our mailing list, please let me know. We always welcome new members!
